What is IJMB

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board, IJMB was established in 1976 by the Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA).
The Board was established to provide educational and social services to the Northerners. The board was organized by the government of the old Northern Region of Nigeria.
The first examination organized by Interim Joint Matriculation Board, IJMB was conducted in 1977 for all candidates who had undergone the IJMBE post secondary education programme in the existing schools of Basic/Preliminary studies which had substituted the HSCE.
The institution that is saddled with the responsibility of administering IJMB board is Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Zaria.
Unlike in the past, students all over Nigeria can now use IJMB programme to secure admission into 70% of Nigerian federal, state and private universities without JAMB.
